Sundays

In Provo, it took me all of, hm...., maybe 4 minutes to get to church (and that was in heels, too!)  This morning, however, Anna, Gill, Katilin, and I caught a taxi into town, rode the Xi'an Metro for about 30 minutes, and walked several blocks to reach the hotel where a rented room upstairs serves as chapel for our small congregation.  Last week, our trek was even longer because we had the patience to wait for the (quite unreliable) 403 bus.  But I'll travel much farther to feel the unity of spirit and strength of faith I did today.  I find the lettering on the neighboring building, visible through the second story window, quite appropriate: "How delightful it is to have friends from afar."  {aside: I have a picture, but I hear the pictures are not showing up in the States. Stay tuned.}

I'm meeting to worship with people from New Zealand, Taiwan, Hawaii, the continental U.S., and Ghana? Yes, I'm in China.
